A 1910 Hupmobile 20 Runabout
from Detroit USA. 1.8 litre fixed-head 4 cylinder engine cast
in two blocks. No oil sump but a continual drip loss system.
Flywheel at the front of the engine also acting as a fan for the
thermo-syphon water cooling. Two forward gears and one reverse and a
ten plate wet clutch. Minimal back brakes. A Hupmobile 20 was the first to
travel the world 46000 miles ( It did take 18months !) This one is just out of a
museum after 20 years. |
