Amati fake. Crazed varnish, false cracks, grafted neck marks and customs seal all faked. Mid 19th century German A 19thC Betts fake. 15 cracks (including sound post) only one real . Forged neck graft both ends. Fake label. Most convincing ageing !!.

A cither-viol by Thomas Perry Dublin circa 1767. 10 string  in 5 courses of two. Unusual ring end machine tuners. Also known as a sultana !  A cross between a viola d'amore and a cittern. Viola by Chanot & Lété, Paris, ca. 1819. Viola d Amore C1900. 7 string tuned in C minor + 7 sympathetic strings Quinton (5 string)  18thC Unknown origin 19th century guitar shaped viola. 19thC A rare frame mute cello by Clement 19thC.
